Writer, Today I Found Out (2002 South Texas Contest Winner)

I'm from Laredo, Texas, right on the border of Mexico. I'm sixteen years old and in the 10th grade. I enjoy writing poems, singing, talking on the phone, going out with friends, and playing volleyball and basketball. I would like to go to college to become a psychiatrist. At the screening in New York and while making the film, I got a chance to meet new people and make friends from all across the country. Overall, my experience with Scenarios showed me that a few words can tell a big part of who you are and what you are about. I learned that by letting people hear your words, you can go a long way.

Recent Updates: Samantha just started her Junior Year at a new high school in Laredo. She will help Scenarios launch the South Texas Contest 2003 by sharing her Scenarios experience with teachers at the Teachers Training Workshop in Laredo on September 12th.
