Frances Negrón-Muntaner is an award-winning filmmaker and writer. She is the author of Boricua Pop: Puerto Ricans and the Latinization of American Culture (named 2004 Choice Outstanding Book), and director of Brincando el charco: Portrait of a Puerto Rican and For the Record: Guam and World War II.
Negrón-Muntaner is also a founding board member and past chair of NALIP, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. She currently teaches Latino and Caribbean literatures and cultures at Columbia University.
