Showtime will air three Scenarios USA films on Thursday, September 15th at 8pm. The Short Films: Scenarios USA Showcase will include the newest slate of shorts: A Memoir to My Former Self, All Falls Down and Toothpaste.
The films will continue to be available On-Demand on Showtime from September 16th – October 13th, which is Hispanic Heritage Month.
Latino youths have written and starred in over half of Scenarios' twelve films and we're excited to be a part of Showtime's programming during this celebratory month. According to House Representative Joe Baca (D-CA), "Hispanics represent 13 percent of the population in the United States but only 6 percent of the acting roles right now." The Scenarios program offers youth from underrepresented populations the opportunity to participate in the filmmaking world by telling their stories for a national audience.
Please use this national airing as an occasion to rally support for films by youth that depict the realities of their lives. Forward this newsletter or make a personal call to your friends, relatives and community supporters, and tell them to tune in, or host a screening party. We know you’ll enjoy the films and we thank you for tuning in and spreading the news!
Scenarios three newest films cover a wide range of important youth issues; from eating disorders to friendships, from dating to pregnancy prevention, these films represent the raw and honest words of teens paired with Hollywood-quality film production.
