In NYC, you can learn a lot on your way to and from school.
A subway train and platform is the setting for Chantel Woolridge and Francine Kitson’s Scenarios film, All Falls Down. Their story, capturing the relationships of six high school students before and after school, adeptly addresses issues teens face everyday – questions of self-esteem, communication, peer pressure and the influence of drugs and alcohol on decision-making.
On October 9th and 10th, Chantel and Francine's story was made into a film with director David Koepp (Secret Window) at the helm aided by the talent of Producer Ezra Swerdlow, Cinematographer Mark Benjamin, a professional film crew and a slew of NYC High School students, parents, teachers and community volunteers. "This shoot was one of the most energizing experiences I've had," said Koepp.
Woolridge honed the story into a shooting script over the summer with guidance from Koepp. She participated in the casting, location scouts, and rehearsals. During the shoot, she listened to every word of dialogue through a headset, making sure the final film met the story's original vision. Francine moved to London before the production and was unable to join the fun. All Falls Down together with Toothpaste, and A Memoir to my Former Self, the Scenarios films from south Texas and Miami, will premiere in December.
The New York Post, UPN, NBC and CNN provided local and national coverage of the NYC Scenarios shoot. CNN will air their piece on Scenarios tomorrow, Friday October 29th during American Morning between 9:30am and 10:00am.
