Scenarios USA Announces Miami & Texas Winners!

We are excited to announce the winners of the south Texas and Miami What's the Real Deal? Contests!

The winners of the Texas Contest are Gladys Sanchez, Kristal Villarreal, Amanda Ramirez, Laura Coria and Juan Carlos "Charlie" Ramirez from Mission, Texas. Their script, Someone's Sorrow, is a complex look at choices that teens make when working towards being in a healthy relationship. Director Ben Younger (Boiler Room starring Ben Affleck) will work with this team of writers to revise their script into the final shooting script. The film will be shot in the writers' hometown of Mission.

The winner of the Miami Contest is Katrina Garcia from Miami, Florida. Her story, A Memoir to my Former Self, addresses body image and self awareness. Director Jamie Babbit (But I'm a Cheerleader, Popular) will work with Katrina to help her turn her short story into a film script. The film will be shot in the writer's community.

Congratulations to the winners and to the hundreds of youth who participated! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas on Sexuality: It's not just what you do, but who you are.
