The maker of TheMamafesto blog has created a project called Our Reality. Our Reality is a project started in Holyoke Massachusetts, that will help young women share their realities on what it’s like being a teen mom. http://themamafesto.wordpress.com/2012/06/13/our-reality/
These young women of the Care Center, an alternative education program for pregnant and parenting teens who have dropped out of high school, feel that MTV’s reality show Teen Mom does not depict the true stories of all teen mothers around the world. These young mothers are creating mini documentaries to add to a website that will reach out to other women struggling to work toward something more, whether it is education, a career, etc. To get this project off the ground, Our Reality has signed up to win a $3,000 Storytellers award from GOOD Makers, an organization that wants to know how you would use storytelling to unite your community and bring people together.
