October 14, 2008: ¡HAZTE LA PRUEBA! National Latino AIDS Awareness Day

October 15th is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day

In various locations nationwide, NLAAD organizers will reach out to the Latino community, traditionally underserved in terms of HIV/AIDS awareness, with testing sites, speeches, informational resources and fun-filled festivities. Come out for the music, dance and spoken word – stay to learn more about AIDS and get involved in halting the spread of the disease. Interested? Visit www.NLAAD.org

Here at Scenarios USA, our teen writers have shared their own thoughts on AIDS in the Latino community. Check out our films about AIDS, written by or with performances by young Latinos and Latinas.

Nightmare On AIDS Street

National Latino AIDS Awareness Day is going to be a blast. But whether you’re Latino or not, getting tested for AIDS is important and wearing a condom is essential. Be aware. Be safe. Be well.
