February 5, 2008: February 7th is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

What does that mean to you?
Here are some hard-to-believe statistics to wrap your head around…..

Although Black Americans represent only 12% of the U.S. population, they account for half of AIDS cases diagnosed in 2005.

Although Black teens (aged 13–19) represent only 16% of U.S. teenagers, they accounted for 69% of new AIDS cases reported among teens in 2005.

Whether you’re Black, White, old or young we ALL need to: Get tested, get educated, get involved and get treated!

Check out…Reflections, a film about three best friends who learn to take the risk of HIV/AIDS seriously as they navigate romantic relationships in an urban environment mired in economic strife, drugs, and limited options.
